Dental Implant Cost in Texas: What One Tooth Costs, Office by Office

What Texas offices publish as their own fee for one implant with its crown, $2,450 to $4,473, set beside restated city ranges, national insurer and lender figures, the cost of each part, mini implants and how Texans pay.

Texas offices that publish their own fee for one implant with its crown list $2,450 to $4,473, and most sit between $3,000 and $4,500. Insurers and discount-plan sellers put the national range at $3,000 to $6,000. CareCredit’s Texas average of $1,972 leaves out the crown, so it sits below every all-in fee. Below: who published which figure and when, what each part costs, and how Texans pay.

Red Bud Dental’s two pages disagree. Three figures are left out of the table on purpose: Best Dental in Richmond lists $1,995 all-inclusive while its own comparison table puts Houston at $4,500 to $7,500; Castle Dental’s Houston/Champions office advertises $1,295 without showing what it covers; and East El Paso Dentist’s $975 (December 2023) is for placement only. Texas Dental Implant Center and Naba Dental list the same Houston address and may be one practice.

Several sources disagree with themselves. Aspen’s cost page also shows $3,571 for savings-plan members and a second range of $2,859 to $4,597. CareCredit’s own cost list gives $4,344 per tooth for a standard implant without saying what it covers. Humana’s $856 to $2,122 comes from a pricing tool set to Orlando, Florida.

CareCredit’s graft figures run from $558 for a socket graft to $2,161 to $5,148 for the patient’s own bone; its Texas average of $2,566 names no graft type and is high against its own national figures. Coast Dental, which has Texas offices, lists placement at $2,271 and implant crowns at $1,629 to $1,768 on a schedule titled 2025 but footnoted “Fees effective 01/01/19”.

Mini implants

DentalPlans.com (2024) and Sunbit (2025) price mini implants at $500 to $1,500 each. CareCredit’s average is $860 nationally and $797 in Texas, and it puts a lower denture on four to six minis at $3,498 to $8,386. The only Texas practice figure is Dr. Gregory Bowen’s in San Antonio: $2,800 to $5,000 for mini-implant denture stabilization, on a 2019 page.

What moves the price

  • Grafting and extraction. Preferred Dental Center’s fee rises from $2,995 to $4,295 with both, and Omega’s comes to $4,550 with a socket graft.
  • How the fee is quoted. A “from” price or a post-only fee looks lower than an all-in one: Innate’s $2,100 becomes $4,000 with the crown.
  • Membership plans. Coast Dental lists placement at $1,260 for SmilePlus members; Aspen’s average falls to $3,571 with its savings plan.
  • Crown material. Guardian puts the crown at $1,000 to $2,000 or more, by material.

How Texans pay

  • Dental insurance. Plans that cover implants usually pay 50% after a 12-month wait, up to a cap: $1,000 a year on Humana Extend 2500, $2,000 lifetime on Cigna’s individual plans. See dental insurance and implants in Texas.
  • Medicare. Original Medicare does not cover implants; some Medicare Advantage plans include capped dental.
  • Texas Medicaid. General dental services are not a benefit for clients 21 and older. See Texas Medicaid and dental implants.
  • Dental schools. UT Health San Antonio’s student clinic does implant surgery and restoration at about 60 percent below private practice. No school publishes a per-implant fee. See Texas dental schools.
  • Financing. CareCredit defers interest for 6 to 24 months on $200 or more, then adds it back if unpaid; Proceed Finance lends $1,500 to $75,000 from 3.99 percent APR. See ways to pay less.

By city

  • Houston. Omega $3,900; Pearly Whites of Pearland $3,500; Texas Dental Implant Center from $3,500; Lovett Dental $2,999 to $4,000.
  • Dallas. Innate Dental Solutions, Plano: $4,000 with the crown.
  • San Antonio. Preferred Dental Center from $2,995; Hearthstone Dental Specialists $2,495 without the crown.
  • Austin. South Austin Dental Associates from $3,999; Red Bud Dental, Round Rock, from $2,450.
  • Fort Worth. Northwest Family Dental $2,498 all-in; Covenant Dental’s post and crown, priced separately.
  • El Paso. No all-in office fee; East El Paso Dentist’s $975 covers placement only.

Frequently asked questions

How much does one dental implant cost in Texas?

Texas offices that publish a fee for an implant with its crown list $2,450 to $4,473. City ranges restated by Texas practices run $3,000 to $6,000. A graft or extraction is added on top.

Why is CareCredit’s Texas average so low?

CareCredit’s $1,972 Texas average and $2,143 national average leave out the crown. Its own cost list gives $4,344 per tooth for a standard implant, so the two figures measure different things.

Is the crown included in an implant quote?

Sometimes. Omega’s $3,900 and Northwest Family Dental’s $2,498 include it; Hearthstone’s $2,495 and Innate’s $2,100 do not. Ask whether the abutment, crown, graft and extraction are in the figure.

Does Texas Medicaid pay for implants for adults?

No. The Texas Medicaid provider manual says general dental services are not a benefit for clients 21 and older, and its emergency exception does not authorize restorations, dentures or bridges.
